The Vitamix Quiet One is even more so as it has more programmable buttons for speed control, both manual and automatic. Both feature noise reduction features, such as the sound enclosure, that absorbs not only noise but also the vibration a blender produces while high-speed blending.

In terms of performance, the Vitamix Quiet One is a superior blender. It lets you comfortably make a wider variety of blends with over 30 blending programs. And it features 90+ speeds that is impressive for a household appliance.

Vitamix The Quiet One vs Blendtec 800: Differences

So it is a tie (2-2) between the Vitamix The Quiet One vs Blendtec 800. Both have strengths that contribute to their overall quiet and smooth performance. The Vitamix is more programmable and flexible while the Blendtec 800 is more durable and long-lasting to use.

1. Blending Performance

The Winner: It’s a tie

+Blender Jar

There’s no good or bad when you compare a small vs large-sized blender jar. It all falls back on convenience and personal preference.

Starting with the Vitamix The Quiet One, which has a smaller 48-ounce jar, it has level markings up to 48 ounces, a secure lid, and a handy grip handle.

The Blendtec 800, in contrast, features a blender jar with level markings up to 36 ounces. But you can add up to 90 ounces of ingredients per serving. So it’s larger than the Vitamix in its blending capacity.

The design of the blender jar between Vitamix The Quiet One vs Blendtec 800 are different. The Blendtec features the popular WildSide Jar which allows tamper-free blending as it ensures the ingredients glide down toward the blades.

The Vitamix Quiet One has a standard blender jar shape. Unlike the Blendtec, it doesn’t have an extra wall to allow tamper-free performance. It comes with a handy tamper and its walls are spherical, not cornered like the Blendtec.

Both are see-through with lids and handles. Easy to disassemble for cleaning and place back inside the enclosure for soundproofing and vibration-free blending.

2. Controls / Programmability

The Winner: Vitamix The Quiet One

+Variable Speed Functions

The most unrivaled thing about the Vitamix Quiet One is its 93 variable speed settings. Whereas the Blendtec 800 comes with only 11 speeds. Now, as I’m sure you’re already wondering, “what am I to do with 93 variable speeds?!” Well, let me tell you, a variable speed adjustment in a blender gives you the flexibility to improve the texture of the blend.

Say, you like your smoothies not too creamy but only slightly with some lumps, especially if you’ve added berries in the smoothie. With 93 variable speeds, though it will take some time to experiment, you can achieve exactly the texture you crave.

With 11 variable speeds, this might get tricky. The Vitamix Quiet One is more advanced and foolproof in its functionality and programmability than the Blendtec 800.

+Programmable Blends

Again, the Vitamix wins with more numbers of blending modes than the Blendtec 800. It features 34 program buttons for versatile textures for hot soup, smoothies, desserts, thick blends, thin blends, frozen drinks, juices, etc.

The Blendtec 800, on the other hand, features 6 programs. It’s professional and all-around for most blending uses – it can make smoothies, crushed ice, hot soup, butter, baby food, sauces, dough, etc.

Each setting has an accurate speed level to maintain smooth and consistent performance. But thanks to the powerful motor and sturdy blades of the Vitamix, it’s better equipped at handling more one-touch programmable features than the Blendtec.

+Pulse Buttons

On the control panel of the Vitamix, you’ll find 2 pulse buttons with different power settings. The Blendtec 800 features a single pulse button which is common in most high-powered blenders.

So why do you need 2 pulse buttons instead of just 1?

On the Vitamix, the 2 pulse buttons have different RPM speeds. So the pulse button on the top is more powerful than the pulse button below it. Though you are supposed to press and hold each button to control the duration of the power.

Trying out new recipes? These 2 pulse buttons can be of great help.

Leaving the flexibility aside, the Blendtec 800 does the same pulse action with a single Pulse button on its panel. You can easily pulse food at the touch of a button, controlling the blending texture for less than 5 seconds.

It’s only that with the Vitamix, you have the option of controlling the RPM (speed) of the spinning blades each time.

3. Utilities

The Winner: Blendtec 800

+Size

Both the size and weight of the Blendtec 800 are more petite than the Vitamix Quiet One. This is a good thing, especially for people who have a small kitchen area to cook in. Of course, you can always make room for a slightly bigger design – especially when that model has upgraded and advanced features. But the Blendtec 800, along with the Vitamix Quiet One, has both.

The Vitamix Quiet One measures 8.5 x 10.7 x 18 inches and weighs 20 pounds. The Blendtec 800 is conveniently designed with a 9 x 8.6 x 17.3 inches construction and a 16.2 pounds body weight.

This means it’s more practically satisfying because of its compact and portable design. It also looks much sleeker than the Vitamix Quiet One. Especially the sound enclosure design.

And let’s not forget that the Vitamix Quiet One has a smaller blender capacity than the Blendtec 800. It can carry up to 48 ounces of food per serving while the Blendtec goes up to 90 ounces without any trouble. Despite this, Blendtec is more conveniently sized.

+Touchscreen

The Blendtec 800 features a touchscreen panel with a smooth and, most importantly, a flat surface. This is good because it allows easier upkeep, you have no buttons or dial to wipe the dust off of. And second, it looks good because even if you make a mess while blending, the touch panel is completely sealed so water from entering the machine from anywhere.

The Vitamix is designed in a similar way but it doesn’t have a touchscreen panel. Nor does it have a rotary dial, switches, or buttons like most standard home blenders. The buttons are sealed and easy to clean.

Appearance-wise, I like how the Blendtec 800 is designed with a strapping touch panel and sturdy motor base.

+Warranty

The Vitamix Quiet One comes with a warranty that’s significantly shorter than the Blendtec 800. It’s 3 years vs 10 years – in favor of the Blendtec 800! Even both are professional-grade blenders for long-term use.

Both blenders have the same 63 to 65 dB noise level which is marked as ‘Very Low’ and favorable for home use. Standard blenders are much higher – around 80 to 85 dB – so there is no doubt that both the Vitamix and Blendtec are extremely quiet models.

But you have better assurance of the Blendtec 800’s quiet performance with the 10-year warranty. The Vitamix Quiet One lasts only for 3 years under the manufacturer’s protection. So if anything spoils after the 3-year mark, you’re going to have to pay for it yourself.

Considering this serious advantage, coupled with the robust motor and sound enclosure, the premium cost of the Blendtec is justifiable.

Vitamix The Quiet One vs Blendtec 800: Similarities

1. Sound Enclosure

Blendtec 800 Sound Enclosure
Blendtec 800 Sound Enclosure

The thing that’s special about both the Vitamix Quiet One and Blendtec 800 is that they have a soundproofing design for high-powered blending. Everybody knows that blenders or food processors or mixers are noisy. And that’s one of the reasons why so many people chose not to buy a blender, it’s often disturbing to use when you have pets around or you live in a large household.

But these two blenders introduce a smarter design that significantly reduces the motor and blade noise. The sound enclosure absorbs maximum noise. I’ve seen such blenders in coffee shops more often. And it does wonders to your blending experience at home.

2. Self-Cleaning Feature

Both blenders come with dishwasher-safe parts and a self-cleaning program. With this program, you can easily clean the insides of the jar, including the area under the blades, without rinsing it yourself.

Add warm soapy water to the jar and close the lid. Switch the blender on for around 20 to 30 seconds. After which, you can simply rinse out the dirty water and wipe the insides of the blender dry.

This takes care of the cleaning part and you didn’t have to wash anything by hand.
