Vitamix A2500 vs 2500i Review: Which Vitamix Blender To Buy Right Away? A Smart Blending System On A Budget

I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post. Read more

The Vitamix A2500 blender is the one you’ll end up buying between the Vitamix A2500 vs 2500i. I like both blenders as they have more things in common than they don’t. But because of the A2500’s easy availability and lightweight design, it’s the better opponent.

Both blenders have 3 pre-programmed settings and 10 variable speeds. You can spend a lot of time making tons of exciting recipes with either of them. This includes soup, butter, sauces, juices, smoothies, ice cream, frozen drinks, etc.

And you won’t even have to spend a fortune on it. The large container allows you to make either a one-person smoothie or a large batch of batter for cookies for the entire family. The blender jar comes with a secure lid, a tamper, and friction blades that also support hot soup blending in under 6 minutes.

Vitamix A2500 vs 2500i: Differences

Between the Vitamix A2500 vs 2500i, the A2500 is the better pick with more stability though it’s lightweight and it’s quick to buy.

The Vitamix 2500i shares the same blending features as the A2500, to be honest, but it is in the secondary considerations that the A2500 wins. Both are Ascent blenders that promote smart and efficient blending at the touch of a button.

1. Cleaning & Maintenance

The Winner: Vitamix A2500

+Size

The Vitamix A2500 measures 11 x 8 x 17 inches while the 2500i measures 10.9 x 7.9 x 16.9 inches. So it’s practically just a 0.1 inch difference between the 2500 vs 2500i that’s barely even noticeable even for a finicky buyer.

But what does come into focus, as far as portability goes, is the weight between the two top contenders. The Vitamix A2500 weighs 11 pounds while the 2500i weighs 15.2 pounds. It’s heavier, owing to its 67-ounce blender jar, while the A2500 comes with a 64-ounce jar.

Both have the same BPA-free plastic jar material, strong and sturdy exterior, and 4 stainless steel blades. But between their weight, I prefer the A2500 because it’s easier to move around and store. Because a blender as large as 64-ounce needs to be stored away in a cabinet to save counter space.

2. Utilities

The Winner: Vitamix A2500

+Availability

I would like to mention that the Vitamix A2500 is everywhere. You can buy it right now if you wanted to. Its available across multiple websites. It is backed by plenty of reviews and customer feedback.

In comparison, the 2500i is not as convenient and easy to buy. You may find one that’s up for grabs offline, but you have as many reviews of it the way the Vitamix A2500 does.

So on matters of availability, the Vitamix A2500 wins, again, because it’s more feasible to buy a blender that is top-rated than a blender that is limited in stock and unattainable, to begin with.

Vitamix A2500 vs 2500i: Similarities

1. Blending Performance

There are a few factors that influence the performance of a blender. In the case of the Vitamix A2500 vs 2500i, their blending performance is the same.

They include 10 variable speed settings and 3 pre-programmed blending modes. There’s even a Pulse button to control how fast the blades spin for a short burst of time. So if you’re still on the fence about which blender is better between the A2500 and 2500i, both are good.

The 3 program settings are for smoothies, frozen drinks/desserts, and hot soup. So both blenders are supportive of hot soup blending. They are both tabletop blenders which means you can keep them on the counter easily.

They are Bluetooth-connected for self-detect technology which means that you can use smaller-sized blending jars on the same motor base. Just as long as they are compatible with his Vitamix model. The blender will automatically detect the size of the blender and adjust its power and speed accordingly.

This is a good feature for large families. But also for its individual members who like to make single-serve smoothies every morning. Or perhaps bulletproof coffee that not everyone in the house likes to drink.

Both blenders also feature a digital timer to display a proper reading of the time passed and a powerful motor that does not overheat even while blending the hot soup.

2. Cleaning

The blades and blender jars are dishwasher-safe with a self-cleaning function that lets you blend soap water to keep the blades clean and get rid of odor quickly. Self-cleaning after making hummus, soup, dips, or chunky butter is the BEST thing. It takes away the hassle of scooping out bits and pieces of food from under the blades.

After the self-cleaning, I can simply place the jar and lid on the top rack of the dishwasher. And my blender is again ready to be used in no time.

To clean the blender well, I recommend adding warm water with a few drops of dish soap. Set the variable speed to 5 and let it run for about a minute or two. Following that, you can empty out the container and give it a good rinse. Either let it rinse again in a dishwasher or wipe the inside of the jar and the lid dry before using it again.

Both blenders also come with a tamper for easy accessibility. And the parts are backed with a 10-year warranty for safekeeping and long-term durability.
