I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post. Read more

Comparing the Vitamix A2500 vs E320, I found that the Vitamix A2500 is a more compelling and dynamic choice for blending enthusiasts. It’s more capable because it offers automatic blending modes that the E320 doesn’t.

The Vitamix E320 features a 10-speed rotary dial, pulse button, and on/off switch. It has a cooling fan that keeps the powerful 2.2 HP motor cool, a large 64-ounce blending jar with dishwasher-safe parts, and a sturdy motor base that doesn’t take up too much space, at least not length-wise.

The A2500, being the winner, has more perks than the E320. You can access 3 blending programs from its control panel + 10 speeds + a pulse feature. It has its own app that lets you control more blending modes and recipes. And it’s compatible with smaller jars for more versatile use.

Vitamix A2500 vs E320: Differences

The Vitamix A2500 wins 3 – 1 against the Vitamix E320. You can buy the A2500 for its superior functionality and the E320 for its simplicity. The A2500 has more features like Bluetooth connectivity, blending pre-sets, and a timer.

1. Controls / Settings

The Winner: Vitamix A2500

Vitamix A2500 has 3 pre-programmed settings for smoothies, hot soup, and frozen desserts
Vitamix A2500 has 3 pre-programmed settings for smoothies, hot soup, and frozen desserts

+Blending Modes

The A2500 features 3 blending pre-sets that stand out from the 10 variable speed settings that the A2500 also offers. The same is true for the E320 which features 10 variable speeds. But it does not, like the A2500, come with 3 blending pre-sets.

These blending modes are for smoothies, frozen drinks, and hot soup. One of the most common things that you can make at home in a blender is available at the turn of a knob.

The rotary dial that controls the different speeds also lets you pick from any one of these automatic modes. Once you select, the blender will adjust the speed of the blades to achieve the perfect texture.

I think the A2500 is perfect for making smoothies, frozen drinks, and hot soup without worrying about the speed. And if you prefer a bit more control, the 10 variable speeds are always at your disposal.

2. Cleaning / Maintenance

The Winner: It’s A Tie

Vitamix E320 Maintenance

+Size

The Vitamix A2500 is longer than the E320 while the E320 is taller than A2500. The A2500 measures 17 x 8 x 11 inches and the E320 measures 11 x 8 x 18 inches.

If you find yourself considering the thickness and height of the blender to fit your not-so-large countertop, you have to pick between height vs length before you can buy the Vitamix A2500 vs E320.

Because the A2500 won’t be too tall so it can easily slide under kitchen cabinets. But it is surely longer which means it will take up more room. If you have other kitchen appliances on the same plane, some arrangements will be necessary.

On the other hand, is height is more accessible to you, the E320 will fit in any tight spot. An area where there isn’t any cabinet installed over the countertop would be the perfect spot for the E320. Though it’s 18 inches tall, it’s not very bulky in length.

+Weight

Moving on, I think the A2500 is a lighter appliance than the E320. The E320 weighs 13 pounds while the A2500 weighs 11 pounds. So being 2 pounds lighter, I think that makes the A2500 a more sensible choice for portability.

Since this is a blender we’re talking about, storage is key. You should be able to move the blender around, store it in a cabinet or move the blender to another kitchen table for better accessibility.

This is why I chose the Vitamix A2500 for its lightweight, flexible design.

The E320, being slightly heavier, can be a hassle to put together if you’re multitasking. That’s why it’s better to keep the E320 on the kitchen counter. So it’s always within reach and handy when you need it.

3. Utilities

The Winner: Vitamix A2500

+Self-Detect Technology

The Vitamix A2500 is also a user-friendly choice for its quick, intuitive intelligent controls which the E320 does not offer. Starting with the Self-Detect Technology that makes switching back and forth between different blending sizes easy.

Though you have to buy a small blending jar separately since this package includes the 64-ounce container only. You don’t have to worry about the power once you do. Just snap the container on the motor base of this blender and forget about the rest.

The Self-Detect Technology matches the speed and power depending on the jar size. You don’t have to adjust the speed yourself.

For blending large batches of hot soup, the 64-ounce container is ideal. But for smoothies or salad dressing, you might prefer a smaller 48- or 32-ounce jar. The A2500 offers more versatility with regards to how you can use the blender, for different cooking purposes.

The E320 features a 64-ounce jar only with no auto-detect technology.

+Bluetooth

Bluetooth connectivity enables you to connect the blender to a smartphone or a tablet. Lots of users nowadays have a separate kitchen tablet that they use for recipes and playing music while cooking.

And this Vitamix A2500 is supportive of modern technology. This means you can download the Vitamix app and use it to access more blending programs and hundreds of recipes with portion adjustment.

Unfortunately, the E320 does not have Bluetooth compatibility. It is not as upgraded in programmability as the A2500. You can see that reflected in the E320’s price as it cheaper than the A2500.

On the app, you can select and adjust your recipes at the touch of a button. You can also adjust the timing of the blending based on the container you’ve placed on the motor.

+Programmable Digital Timer

Not only does the A2500 display the timer on its app, but it has a large timer display on the control panel of the blender. The timer display sits on the control panel just right on top of the speed dial. It’s bright and digital which means it’s programmable.

The Vitamix E320 is a fairly simple blender for everyday home use. It does not feature a programmable timer like the A2500 but it does offer the 10 variable speed dial and a pulse button.

+Warranty

For the higher cost, you also get a longer warranty from the Vitamix A2500. 3 years longer than the E320 which offers a 7-year warranty and the A2500 includes a 10-year warranty.

However, you can extend the E320’s warranty by paying a little extra. You can get a 4-year or 3-year extension for under $50. Since the E320 is sold for around $400 that’s still less than the price of the A2500 which costs around $540 with a 10-year warranty.

But if you’re looking for an all-in-one deal, with the added advantages of the A2500, it’s the perfect investment to make for long-term use.
