While both Vitamix 5200 vs A2500 are great choices, the Vitamix a2500 is the best because of its advanced features.

If you are a techy gadget nerd, the Vitamix A2500 is truly what you are looking for, since it is smart and very high tech. Our blending will become hassle-free and incredible than ever with a strong 2.2 hp engine, presets, digital timer, and wireless connection that does not exist in the 5200.

Vitamix 5200, one of the most popular models from the Ascent Series, is also worth considering. It is a powerful blend that can blend almost anything. You will still get almost similar results to the A2500 for a little less money but will be trading off the technological.

This detailed review will assist you in making the right choice.

Vitamix 5200 vs A2500: Differences

After evaluating, the Vitamix A2500 wins 5 – 1 over the 5200. The reason is that the A2500 has a more powerful motor, preset setting, and other Smart features such as Self-Detect technology, a digital timer that the E310 doesn’t have.

1. Blending Performance

The Winner: Vitamix A2500

The motor is the blender’s heart. Considering the motor power of the blender is a critical step before making any choice.

As compared to the 5200, the A2500 has a slightly higher power. It comes with a 2.2 horsepower motor, while the 5200 has a 2 horsepower motor. The difference between the two isn’t very significant since both can cut through nearly any ingredient, regardless of how soft or hard it is.

Their blending performance six of one and half a dozen of the other. Both blenders do a great job at making smoothies and blended drinks. The final drink had a smooth texture with no flakes or chunks of unblended fruit. While the A2500 is excellent at crushing ice into snow-like without any issue, the 5200 only works best when crushing a few ice cubes at a time to prevent chunks left.

2. Controls/ Settings

The Winner: Vitamix A2500

+ Program setting and mode

Vitamix A2500 has 3 pre-programmed settings for smoothies, hot soup, and frozen desserts
Vitamix A2500 has 3 pre-programmed settings for smoothies, hot soup, and frozen desserts

A2500 has 3 pre-programmed settings for smoothies, hot soup, and frozen desserts presenting on one side of the dial and the other side is speed settings so you can adjust it manually if you want. With these presets, I don’t have to hassle with adjusting the settings to suit each type of food.

+ Self-detect technology for container

The Vitamix A2500 is a smart blender with self-detect technology. This technology allows it to recognize any container placed on it to adjust the program settings and the maximum blending time accordingly.

The Vitamix 5200 lacks this technology.

+ Control panel

The control panel of Vitamix 5200 vs A2500 is also different.

The Vitamix A2500 has a dial that divides into 2 parts. We will choose between 10 different speed settings on the left side of the dial and choose three different preset modes on the other side. On the left side of the blender is a pulse mode, and on the right side is an on/off toggle. The interface is very intuitive.

The Vitamix 5200 also has a dial that allows us to adjust speed up to 10 settings. You can also select ‘High’ as the highest speed or select the ‘Variable’ setting. The 5200 doesn’t have pulse mode.

3. Cleaning And Maintain

The Winner: Vitamix A2500

+ Carafe Size

The big 64 oz container may be difficult to handle for someone
The big 64 oz container may be difficult to handle for someone

When you are considering this model, you should know that the 64-ounce container that comes with it may be too large for some blending jobs. Because the bottom part of the container is so wide, small amounts of dressings or sauces can’t be successfully blended and will splash around on the sides. You can even see the powerful blades of a Vitamix spinning helplessly in the air.

If you only blend small or medium batches, the tall 64 oz jug of Vitamix 5200 will be more suitable.

However, it is also the advantage of Vitamix A2500 and the disadvantage of 5200 in terms of cleaning.

+ Cleaning

Both machines have self-clean mode. The process is identical, just add warm water and a drop of soap, then turn on the highest speed without disassembling any part of the machine.

So what is the difference I mentioned here? The self-cleaning mode would not be able to clean up the stubborn, sticky residue, so sometimes, we will have to clean it manually.

Above I mentioned that the container of Vitamix A2500 is wide at the bottom. As a result, there will be a lot of places around the blade that make cleaning manually easy. Additionally, there are no lips or crevices that could collect food. Even better, pitcher, lid, and blade assembly can all be washed in the dishwasher, if you don’t want to do it yourself.

The 5200 proved a little difficult to clean since it isn’t advised to put it in the dishwasher. Also, the taller and narrower container of this model makes it more difficult to clean manually than the Vitamix A2500 models.

4. Utilities

The Winner: Vitamix A2500

App

The Vitamix 5200 is compatible with the Vitamix app
The Vitamix 5200 is compatible with the Vitamix app

The Vitamix 5200 is not compatible with the Vitamix app, whereas the A2500 is. With this app, we can access 17 preset programs and more than 500 recipes. We can save time and energy by not having to guess what we should do.

We can also unlock the blender using our iOS or Android devices. You can also create your own recipes that will be remembered by the app.

Timer

There is a digital timer on the Vitamix E2500 so you can adjust the exact amount of time the blender will take. The timer is displayed on a small screen on top of the dial. You can also control the digital timer through an app and Bluetooth. You can, therefore, clearly see that the A2500 offers plenty of flexibility.

3. Price/ Worth To Buy

Tie

Vitamix A2500 costs $ 499.9 and Vitamix 5200 costs $449.9. The A2500 beats 5200 in almost every aspect; it also has some features that 5200 does not have, and the remaining features are the same.

With only an extra $50, we can own a blender not only professional but Smart. For me, that is definitely a better choice. But if you are looking for a blender on budget, then 5200 is a more suitable choice. It is also a high-perform blender anyway.

The winner is up to you!

Vitamix 5200 vs A2500: Similarities

Although there are differences between the two, there are some similarities as well.

The two can be cleaned easily with the self-cleaning feature, requiring only a mix of warm water and a few drops of dish soap. Next, set the machines at the highest speed and It will clean itself in about 60 seconds.

Moreover, both have easy-to-use controls with 10 variable speeds, which makes it possible to handle a lot kind of blending.

Stainless steel blades are used in both blenders which is high-quality steel that will cut through almost any ingredient thrown at it for a consistent blend texture.
