Vitamix 5200 Vs Ascent A2300 Review: Classic Series Vs Ascent Series, Which Is More Comfortable For Personal Uses?

I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post. Read more

Compared to what’s new in Vitamix A2300 and why it can’t defeat Classic model Vitamix 5200.

Because they are from different series, Vitamix 5200 Vs Ascent A2300 appear to be diametrically opposed, which may have many exciting features to consider.

Vitamix has introduced the Ascent series for a while with more modern and convenient updates for them, which Vitamix Ascent A2300 included. For me personally, these enhancements are must-try-at-least-once experiences. Aside from an extended warranty, you can also connect your blender to the Vitamix app, which is available for Android and iOS.

Furthermore, the Self-Detect function simplifies managing your tasks by reading which container you select and automatically adjusting suited programs.

The digital timer is another helpful tool. Isn’t it amazing?

Though the Vitamix A2300 is a joy to use, I still prefer Vitamix 5200 from the Classic series, released more than 20 years ago. What’s the reason? That could be why I don’t use the Ascent modern function as much as I should. They’re unnecessary. Isn’t the value of a blender in its powerful performance and long-term durability? That’s why, after eight years, I’m still a fan of the Vitamix 5200.

If you’re interested, let’s go into more detail now.

Vitamix 5200 Vs Ascent A2300: Differences

You know, I’m now in two minds because I can’t decide which suitor is best for the winner position. Aside from its many innovative features, the Vitamix A2300 is an excellent blender. Even though the Vitamix 5200 is an older model, many cooking enthusiasts around the world regard it as a reliable product.

Finally, I give the ratio 3-2, with the Vitamix 5200 coming out on top. In terms of primary value, the Vitamix 5200 performs admirably. With its motor that does not hesitate to blend everything thoroughly, make delicious hot soup with very little unblended food, and moreover, its enduring is completely impressive.

Blending Performance

The Winner: Vitamix 5200

+Power

In commercials, the Vitamix A2300 has 2.2 HP. Besides that, it has 4 inches diameter blade, which is ideal for this type of work, while the Vitamix 5200 has a 3 inches blade and 2.0 HP motor power. Both containers are the same size – 64 ounces – so the blending result is easier to compare in theory. You may know that the more powerful a blender’s motor, the more efficient and quick it is; thus, higher-powered engines can improve food and beverage preparation efficiency.

This difference, however, is of no importance to me just because this feature isn’t significant after some trials that can be seen with the naked eye, and the Vitamix A2300 even becomes worse in overheating at times. It gives the impression that blending foods is incomplete.

Anyway, you can enjoy whatever smoothie, hot soup, or milkshake that are completely blended with no slump. Such great texture! Vitamix 5200 has been working very well with no significant problems until now and gives me flawless blending performance.

Durability

You may recall that I purchased the Vitamix A2300 as a new experience for a new blender. Will the cheapest product in the Ascent series be better than the Classic series, such as the Vitamix 5200, or not? I’m inquisitive. And then, on a bad day, the top of the motor, the part that would connect to the blade, cracked.

Thanks to this accident, I soon realized that the interior was mostly plastic. That’s terrible! It could have been an unintentional accident, and when I try lightly beating on the motor, it seems so solid; but in any case, my impression of the Vitamix A2300 isn’t the same as it was on the first day. And soon I found that I was not the only one! She had to replace a new motor just after one-year-used because it suddenly stopped working without any reason.

The significant purchase of the Vitamix 5200 blender demonstrates the product’s long-term durability. For me, a product that is considerably cheaper than premium products, such as the Vitamix 5200, but has the durability that so many people recognize is highly appreciable. I’ve had it for eight years, and it still has a place in my kitchen where I can make my daily dessert. I still love it!

Controls / Settings

The Winner: It’s a tie.

Are you wondering why the Vitamix A2300 has three notable features that older models such as the Vitamix 5200 do not, but the result favors the Vitamix 5200? As previously stated, the value of a blender lies in its power, durability, and, of course, user convenience. The Vitamix 5200 appears to perform better. But first, let’s look at what’s new in models like the Vitamix A2300.

+Preset Programs

In addition to the ten variable speed controls found on the Vitamix 5200, the Vitamix A2300 comes with Vitamix’s Perfect Blend App, which allows you to access 17 different blending programs and over 500 different recipes from your phone. Isn’t this a brilliant improvement in terms of how well you can use the blender daily?

+Digital Timer

The next incredible update that the Vitamix 5200 does not have will help you stay on track by allowing you to set the blending time to avoid standing and manually holding the button yourself. You can achieve the desired texture of your blending without making it thinner or thicker than necessary.

+Built-In Wireless Connectivity and Self-Detect Technology

First, the motor base reads the size of the container you choose, then adjust the suitable programs. What does it mean? Oh, you can select your own programs that fit your need based on the size of your container. Perfectly fit personal uses.

But, Vitamix A2300 also has a weakness that defeats one of its advantages that I really love: the Built-In Wireless Connectivity and Self-Detect Technology. What’s this weak point?

+Switch Pulse

Both blenders have pulse buttons, but the Vitamix A2300’s controls lack clicky feedback. Although this blender has switch buttons, the Vitamix 5200 has an actuation point that you can feel as you press the buttons. There are none in this, so it gives me an uncomfortable impression when blending with it.

I’m the one who just enjoys essential functions, and with this inconvenience, Vitamix 5200 is my favorite choice again.

Utility

The winner: Vitamix A2300

In terms of utilities, the Vitamix A2300 is superior because it comes with a more extended warranty. Its parts are guaranteed for ten years, three years longer than the Vitamix 5200’s warranty of seven years.

In general, the outcome demonstrates a tie. However, the Vitamix 5200 does have a favorable position due to its long life and time saving, which raises the supply of a blender.

Vitamix 5200 Vs Ascent A2300: Similarities

10 Variable Speed Control and Pulse Feature

The ten variable speed allows you to be proactive in selecting your rate, saving time and energy by adjusting the speed on how much time and consistency you require. The standard range of speed settings for any premium blender is only 3 to 5 levels, whereas both blenders offer ten speeds, indicating how performance-driven and precise both blenders are.

Container

Let’s consider the material that makes the container first. Yes, BPA Free Plastic is sturdy and robust for shatterproof purposes. Even more, BPA material can prevent cancer-promoting chemicals when exposed to different temperatures. This material is a smart choice for long-term uses and a healthy lifestyle.

About their size, both blenders have 64-ounce containers. Some complained that this size is too big, but in my opinion, it just depends on your purpose. Who do you use a blender for? A big family, or just medium? If you have a family with crowded members, this 64-ounce size is perfect. You can also buy a 48-ounce one for multi-uses if the number of people who need to be served is smaller.

Noise Level

Honestly, the two blenders are too loud at max speed! They have scary sounds at the time I turn on the motor base. You should carefully consider if you’re not comfortable with noise.

Maintain and Cleaning

First, Vitamix 5200 Vs Ascent A2300 are so easy to clean. All you need to do is simply add warm water and a few drops of dish soap to the blender, then wait in 30 seconds. The Self-cleaning function will do all for you. The only issue is that it’s straightforward to have soap coming out of the top on speed 10 when it throws everything towards the top and the seal if it doesn’t seat perfectly around the container.

What’s about maintaining ability? For me, these two blenders are huge, so they’re bulky. Store them may be a hard job, but I appreciate Vitamix 5200 slightly because it has a slim container for a small space.
