Both the Vitamix A3500 vs A3300 blenders can make automatic blending seem effortless and customizable. They feature a variety of interesting features for blending soup, smoothies, slushies, different types of butter, dough, and lots more.

But if you want to know which is the better Ascent competitor for daily home use – that would be both! The Vitamix A3500 features an intuitive touchscreen display with 5 additional blendings pre-sets on its screen. Though the Vitamix A3300 does not have this, it does have lighter housing which keeps things portable and convenient to use.

After testing and comparing both blenders, lots of people favor the Vitamix A3500 as it has a very user-friendly digital interface. But, in my opinion, even the Vitamix A3300 does not fall behind with its smart app, touchscreen controls, and intricate speed programmability.

Vitamix A3500 vs A3300: Differences

It’s a tie between the A3500 and A3300. They both share most of the features including wireless app, touchscreen, auto-detect sensor, and capacity. But the former features more accessible functions on its touchscreen while the latter is more portable.

1. Controls/Settings

+Blending Pre-Sets

A blending pre-set and variable speed is not the same thing. All Vitamix blenders, including Vitamix A3500 vs A3300, feature 10 variable speed settings. But only a few select blenders feature blending pre-sets. They generally cost a little more. And the Vitamix A3500 is one of them.

You can access 5 blendings pre-sets on the A3500 at the tap of a screen. The blending pre-sets are for smoothies, frozen desserts, dips/spreads, hot soups, and self-cleaning.

The Vitamix A3300 does not feature these blending pre-sets.  It does, however, feature 10 variable speeds and wireless app connectivity that gives you access to blending pre-sets. But as far as getting access to blending pre-sets from the machine’s control panel, only the A3500 offers that added convenience.

2. Cleaning & Maintenance

The Winner: Vitamix A3300

+Weight

If you’re fussy about kitchen appliances, like me, then you are going to notice the slight weight difference between the Vitamix A3300. It’s 1.9 pounds lighter than the A3500 weighing 13 pounds while the A330 weighs 13 pounds only.

Both blenders possess the same size dimensions – 11 x 8 x 17 inches. So they are both compact and comfortable to use in both narrow or wide kitchen spaces.

The Vitamix A330 becomes slightly more multi-purpose and easier to move around from corners or cabinets as it’s lighter than the A3500.

It’s quite impressive that such a well-built and powerful blender can be so portable and accessible in smaller kitchens. And still have the blending power and speed of a heavier, high-end model.

Vitamix A3500 vs A3300: Similarities

1. Design

Because both feature the same 64-ounce container, the A3500 and A3300 offer the same compatible functionality. The large motor base features a control panel with touchscreen controls, a display, and a speed dial. They both also feature on/off power mode, a pulse feature on the touchscreen, and a light indicator for better accessibility.

Both are quite sturdy appliances with containers made of BPA-free plastic and stainless steel blades. The motor base even features an automatic self-detect container that senses the size of the container you use and adjusts the power/speed accordingly.

So yes, for making smaller portions, I generally use a Vitamix Ascent-compatible 32- or 48-ounce blender and the machine detects it automatically.

2. Performance

Vitamix A3500 Performance
Vitamix A3500 Performance

The Vitamix A3500 and A3300 feature powerful 2.2 HP motors that can handle basic to complex blending tasks in seconds. So you can make a simple chocolate-banana smoothie and right after add ice and make a slushie smoothie without the blades feeling worn out or wobbly.

The blades spin really fast and on the highest speed setting they even heat up for preparing soup. For making soup, you have to keep the blender going for around 7-9 minutes. By the end of it, the soup will be steaming hot and you can pour it easily without re-heating it in the microwave or the stove.

The blending performance of both blenders offers thin and thick texture results based on the speed you select. And the results will always be smooth and lump-free. The 10 variable speed settings ensure consistent performance for anything from cheesecake batter, soups, smoothies, butter, or pancake batter!

3. Cleaning

The cleaning functionality on both blenders is the same. The container and lid are dishwasher-safe. You can perform a self-cleaning function on both and in under 30 seconds you can clean the insides of the container – be it peanut butter or dough or any other sticky foods.

The spout and lid of the container are secure and even though I had to rinse them more often, it took me literally seconds to do so because the design is very straightforward and polished.

Blenders do require some hands-on attention but cleaning and maintaining these blenders is no bother at all. While making soup or butter or dough, it’s a breeze to clean.

And the 10-year warranty is a blessing because you get what you pay for!

4. Utilities

Both blenders are more advanced in the features they offer. It’s more than what you need and soon you realize that you can’t do without these features. I’m talking about the wireless app connectivity, programmer timer, and touchscreen controls.

With the app connectivity, download the Vitamix’s ‘super app’ (as I like to call it). This app has done wonders to my blending time. It features over 17 blending programs and hundreds of recipes for blending. As a first-timer blender, it did a lot to make me much less clueless about blending tricky ingredients.

The programmable timer helps me keep track of the time so when I’m making something delicate like mayonnaise that requires a bit more attention.

The touchscreen control panel helps keep everything in check. Other blenders do not come with a display. So making quick adjustments can get a bit tricky or confusing to keep track of. But with the display and app, I have a direct view of everything including the speed settings, timer, and blending mode. This elevates the process of blending, making it a success each time.
