A blender, especially the Vitamix A3500 vs 7500, is only as good as the person using it. If you understand all its nuanced controls and functionalities, only then you can make the most of its features. And if you’re looking for a better blender out of the two – the Vitamix A3500 wins.

It has more programmable features for blending, plus it features a timer, wireless app, and dishwasher-safe parts. The Vitamix 7500 has basic features that are just as intuitive and straightforward to use. But if you’re looking for more one-touch controls, the Vitamix A3500 is your ideal pick.

It is the best blender with a high-performance and intuitive design. Touchscreen display that shows you the timer countdown, the blending mode you’ve selected, and the blending speed. The 7500, on the other hand, is affordable and durable still with buttons and dials for speed control and the Pulse feature.

Vitamix A3500 vs 7500: Differences

In my comparison, the Vitamix A3500 is backed by more performance-driven features that users will love than the 7500. And so it wins 3 – 1 against the Vitamix 7500.

1. Controls / Settings

The Winner: Vitamix A3500

+Blending Modes

The A3500 is a smart blender with 10 variable speeds, a Pulse button, and 5 pre-programmed blending functions. The 7500 meets the user’s expectations halfway in comparison to what the A3500 offers. It features 10 variable speeds and a Pulse button – no blending presets.

The 5 buttons on the A3500 are for smoothies, hot soups, dips, spreads, frozen desserts, and self-cleaning mode. The last preset is for cleaning which blends warm water with dish soap to keep the insides of the container spotless and odorless.

Aside from these programs, the A3500 also features wireless app connectivity. This opens up a whole new catalog of blending programs that the A3500 has to offer to its user.

On the app, you can also access over 500 recipes with adjustable portions and 17 programs for one-touch blending – coupled with the 5 programs that you can access directly from the machine.

2. Cleaning / Maintenance

The Winner: It’s A Tie!

+Weight

Being 64-ounce blenders, the Vitamix A3500 weighs heavier – 18.8 pounds – than the 7500 which weighs 12.5 lbs. So in terms of convenience and ease of use, the 7500 is easier to move around, store, and lift with and without the container.

The carafe material of the A3500 is BPA-free tritan (plastic) while the 7500 also features a plastic container safe for blending. The lightweight housing of the blender, combined with the low-profile container is one of the best features of the 7500.

It’s also easy to clean since the motor base is not too heavy to lift and clean under the base. Even though the 7500 demands you to remove everything, dismantle the lid and the container for cleaning, everything gets done very quickly and easily. And it’s not as wide so it can be placed on the countertop without much effort as well.

+Dishwasher-Safe Parts

The process of cleaning the lid, container, and blades on the A3500 is easier and faster than the 7500. The former does feature dishwasher-safe parts and a self-cleaning preset. The 7500 does not feature dishwasher-safe blending parts.

This means you have to disassemble the 7500 – the lid and container – and rinse all the parts by hand. I imagine that this is more time-consuming than using a dishwasher, right?

The self-cleaning feature, however, on the 7500 works a bit differently. You can add warm water and dish soap to the container and blend it for about 30 seconds. It’s not like the A3500 that features its own self-cleaning mode but it works just as well.

The lack of dishwasher-safe parts makes the 7500 a bit of a disappointment for someone who loves to make butter and doesn’t want to clean the sticky residues all by hand.

+Noise Level

The noise level of the 7500 is low, in fact, it is quieter than the A3500 which falls within the ‘mid-range. It came as a shock to me how quiet the 7500 is even on the highest speed setting. The pulse feature is noiseless and vibration-free as well.

The A3500 runs smoothly but it does produce a noticeable noise at high speeds. Its motor is noisier and even though I’m not very sensitive to sound, I would have appreciated a little less noise while blending. I will say that it’s better to NOT use the A3500 for a long time when anyone in your home is sleeping. It is loud and it will bother someone sleeping in the same house.

3. Utilities

The Winner: Vitamix A3500

+App Connectivity

You have more control over all your blending activities with the A3500. It features built-in wireless connectivity which means you can install the Vitamix’s PerfectBlend app on your smartphone or tablet.

This allows you to walk away from the machine after you’ve set up the container with all the ingredients inside. You can control the machine via the app by selecting the blending program and time. So the A3500 makes blending super easy and intuitive.

The app has several more blending programs and recipes than what’s already featured on the touchscreen control panel. It also features a container detector – Automatic Self-Detect Container – for portion control or adjusting the recipe for more or fewer people. This applies to making all kinds of recipes – for butter, soup, smoothie, ice cream, or batter.

+Timer

The A3500 also comes with a built-in timer that is both programmable and accurate. You can set the timer and walk away from the machine. It’ll automatically stop after blending which makes the A3500 a very handy tool. Ideal for multi-taskers who do multiple things at once.

Certain recipes like butter or soup need to be blended for a very specific duration of time, so I like using the programmable timer to ensure I follow the recipe exactly. It also keeps all my recipes consistent because this way I don’t have to pay attention to the blender when I can just leave it be and it turns off automatically after the timer goes off.

+Control Panel

The Vitamix 7500 features the standard button, switch, and dial system that most blenders have. It’s convenient and handy to use. And appearance-wise, it looks clean and organized. Not at all bulky or difficult to use when making speed adjustments.

The Vitamix A3500, on the other hand, features a touchscreen panel for the speed, programs, and power features. It still features a dial for adjusting the speed but you can see the level of speed on its touchscreen display.

The display will also feature the blending program you’ve selected and the timer countdown. So it looks more sophisticated and modern than the 7500.

Both blenders feature start/stop, pulse, and 10 variable speeds. Only on the A3500 do you get to access is via the touchscreen. On the 7500, it’s more basic.

Vitamix A3500 vs 7500: Similarities

1. 64-ounce Container

Vitamix 64-ounce Container
Vitamix 64-ounce Container

A 64-ounce container is great for blending butter, soup, batter, sauces, ice cream, and dough. But is it a convenient choice for making one-person smoothies? You’d put much fewer ingredients in smaller quantities when making a smoothie than you would for making peanut butter or soup, for example.

I’ve found that making one-person smoothies in a 64-ounce container is a bit excessive. A smaller, 48-ounce container is more fitting. But it’s not impossible to use a 64-ounce container.

Both the Vitamix A3500 and 7500 feature a low-profile 64-ounce container made of BPA-free plastic and stainless steel blades.

2. Speed

If you make a lot of blended food, having more control over speed is essential. Thankfully, the Vitamix A3500 and 7500 feature 10-speed settings. 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest the blades can spin to blend.

For making a green smoothie, for example, you won’t have to crank the blender up to 10. I would recommend staying between 1-5 speeds for smoothies and protein shakes.

Frozen desserts, on the other hand, require more punch and consistency. That’s when you can move beyond 5 and adjust the speed from 5 to 10 depending on the recipe you’re following.

The good thing is that both these blenders are solid and durable so they are able to handle daily tasks without any delay, jamming, or lagging.

3. Utilities

Vitamix Utilities

Both blenders feature a long cord length, a cooling fan to keep the motor from overheating, and a sturdy motor base with rubber feet to prevent skidding on slippery surfaces.

There is a slight difference in their warranties because the A3500 offers a 10-year warranty while the 7500 features 7 years. But the latter does come with an extended warranty that you can upgrade to by paying a little extra.

Both blenders also feature the same powerful 2.2 HP motor that can take on the nuanced speed controls for creamy soups, silky smoothies, and lots more!
