Many people are confused when choosing between Vitamix 7500 vs 5300 because they are too similar. If they have nothing different, how can we make the decision, right?

Hence, this article’s objective is to identify which of these blenders is better from a user’s point of view.

For a quick answer, I recommend buying Vitamix 7500 as the final winner. After using it for a while, I realized that the 7500 has some significant improvement over the Vitamix 5300. Its motor is stronger and can blend or grind everything you put in it. It is also definitely a lot quieter and doesn’t overheat quickly. These updates do, however, come at a higher price.

If you want a high-performance blender at a more budget-friendly price and do not care about the high noise level, fast overheating, the Vitamix 5300 is a good option. With the 5300, you can expect to make everything that the 7500 can make.

The winning blender in this match was Vitamix 7500, which won 2-1 over the Vitamix 5300. I chose Vitamix 7500 as the winner as it has a better blending performance. Furthermore, it is quieter and doesn’t overheat quickly. However, the Vitamix 5300 is slightly cheaper.

1. Blending Performance

The Winner: Vitamix 7500

Both Vitamix 7500 and 5300 have a powerful motor reaching a peak of 2.2 horsepower. 2.2 HP is powerful enough for the blender to be able to grind or blend almost everything you put in it, even the hard ingredients like ice or nuts.

If they have the same power, then why am I comparing them? In fact, we cannot only look at the numbers to judge them because only after I used both these machines did I realize that Vitamix 7500 is stronger. If you surf on the forums or read the users’ feedback, you will see everyone admits that it is true.

Vitamix 7500 has a better blending performance

I tested the ability of both machines to blend smoothies, and of course, the 7500 performed better. Smoothies made with the 5300 are just ok, but they are slightly grainy. Ice and leafy greens aren’t blended well with this blender. The final result always seems to have a chunk of something. But in general, it’s much better than many other blenders I used to use. Compared to the 5300, the 7500 is better-built and makes a better smoothie that incorporates leafy greens such as kale fully into the mix.

2. Cleaning And Maintain

With a 2.2 HP motor, you can’t expect them or any other 2.2 HP blender else to be quiet. I’m sure they will be noisy. But to compare, Vitamix 5300 is louder and annoys me more.

I use the 5300 to make my family smoothies for breakfast, and it was a crazy noise that woke up everyone in the house.

The Vitamix 7500 is part of the G series, which is advertised to be 40% quieter than the C series.

I replaced 5300 with 7500. And it is true. Ads don’t lie. I’m not sure if it is actually 40% quieter, but it is definitely a lot quieter. It is thanks to the noise dampening effect that appears in 7500, not in the 5300.

+ Cooling

Both the Vitamix 7500 and 5300 are equipped with radial cooling fans that give them protection against overheating. Additionally, there is a thermal sensor on each unit that immediately turns off the blender if it gets too hot. With these two features, they will probably last a long time, not corrupted after a couple of years.

The Vitamix 7500 actually has larger vents inside it, meaning that more air can flow in to cool the blender. The Vitamix 7500 is thus better adapted to preventing overheating than the 5300 models.

The 5300, on the other hand, is quicker to overheat and soon begins to smell like burned plastic after a few seconds. Even if I leave the 7500 on for a whole minute, there is only a hint of a typical overheating smell.

3. Price

The Winner: Vitamix 5300

You need to understand that we are talking about two luxury kitchen appliances, which can come with high price tags.

You will find both options quite expensive, equaling the price of two ordinary blenders. However, what you will be getting isn’t just a normal blender.

As I mentioned in the intro, Vitamix 7500 is the newer version and, as such, it’s also more expensive than the 5300.

Buying the more expensive model does buy you some upgrades, but both blenders are so good that you might be willing to sacrifice the upgrades for a more budget-friendly option.

Your final decision will depend on your individual preferences. However, it appears that in the category of price, the 5300 takes the lead.

+ Low-Profile 64-ounce Container

The 64oz container is ideal for making large batches

The Vitamix 7500 and 5300 both have a 64-ounce low-profile container which is perfect for making medium to large batches.

I have struggled with tall containers that can’t fit under my kitchen cabinet. However, I have not encountered such problems with the low-profile container of these two blenders. They are not too tall so I can keep my Vitamix on the counter and ready to go every time.

However, I feel that a short container also has some drawbacks. The 64oz container is too big for making a small batch, making a smoothie for one person for example. Due to the width of the container, there are large areas at each corner of the container that cannot be reached by the blades. As a result, it doesn’t blend smoothly, and there are always chunks left behind.

As I’ve read on the internet, other owners have been able to fix this issue by using an additional smaller container. I decided to purchase a 32-ounce container. Overall, it will cost a lot to get this up and running, but the long term costs will be less.

+ Clean

Although both Vitamix 7500 and 5300 aren’t dishwasher-safe, they are still easy to clean. If you want to keep the machine always in its new condition, I recommend cleaning it as soon as you’re done using it. Cleaning is a breeze because all we have to do is add mixing of hot water and some drop of dish soap and then let the machine run at the highest speed. Also, the wide container is easier to remove the mess under the blades.

There are times when it cannot clean everything by itself, especially sticky messes like almond butter. In this case, we need to use a brush or sponge to clean up manually.

+ Controls

Looking at their control panel, we can realize they have the same controls and settings. They all have ten variable speed control, pulse mode and start/stop switch.

Ten speed is convenient when we blend or grind different types of ingredients because each type requires a specific speed or when we want to create different smooth textures levels.

Besides this ten variable speed level, both machines also have Pulse mode. This function acts as a quick on/off switch, and it is a nice feature in some cases. For example, if you blend chunky ingredients, it’s good to use pulse mode to fast chop them into smaller pieces before starting the blending process.
