Vitamix A2300 vs A3500 are both the Ascent series blenders that many people don’t know which should be chosen.

For me, Vitamix A3500 is the winner in this battle and I’d suggest you should buy this one. Vitamix A3500 is more modern and high-tech than Vitamix A2300. The 3500 has more presets making it more convenient. The touch interface provides a sleek and modern appearance. Moreover, its digital time is programmable and turns off when done, while the A2300 does not have these features.

That doesn’t mean Vitamix A2300 is not worth buying. Our runner-up is also a high-perform blender that can blend or grind almost everything from soft to hard with a 2.2 HP motor. It is even more budget-friendly than the Vitamix A3500.

Vitamix A2300 vs A3500: Differences

The Final Winner: Vitamix A3500 (3-1)

It was a 3-1 victory for Vitamix A3500 over A2300. I choose Vitamix A3500 as the winner as it has more presets, its digital timer and interface are more convenient than the A2300. Meanwhile, the A2300 is lighter.

1. Presets

The Winner: Vitamix A3500

Each recipe needs different settings, adjustments to create the best results. Many people find it difficult to know exactly what they have to adjust, what speed level to adjust to, and how long.

In this case, preprogrammed settings will handle this for you. But the presets are only available on the A3500, not on the A2300. The five presets on the A3500 are: smoothies, frozen dessert, hot soups, dips & spreads, and self-cleaning.

VItamix A3500 has 5 presets while the A2300 does not.
Vitamix A3500 has 5 presets while the A2300 does not.

Although A2500 lacks these awesome presets, fortunately, the brand still allows it to connect to the App. You may think these two features don’t have any relationship, but they did. Using presets would not be impossible because when accessing the App, you can use 17 presets and many other recipes. It will save you money since you won’t have to purchase a blender that has presets built-in.

But I like the idea that presets buttons are available on the control panel as it is more convenient than making the effort to connect to the app every time.

2. Digital Timer

The Winner: Vitamix A3500

Vitamix A3500 and A2300 both have a digital timer. But the timer of A3500 is more convenient and more appealing to me than the one of A2300.

The A2300’s timer display how long your blender be running. Yeah, that’s it! So you will have to watch the blender until the timer reaches the desired minutes and seconds to turn it off manually. You can expect it to stop automatically.

We can set time on Vitamix A2300 so we need to turn off the blender manually.
We can set time on Vitamix A2300 so we need to turn off the blender manually.

The timer on the Vitamix A3500 also displays how long your blending has been running. Furthermore, It also functions like a stopwatch that shows you how much time is left on programmed settings.

Or, when your recipes require a specific time, this timer is programmable to help you adjust the time up to six and a half minutes. We can completely turn it on and let it run and prepare the breakfast meanwhile. Don’t need to be worried that it will mess up as the blender will turn off when reaches the set time. That’s cool!

I am actually able to increase my productivity with this machine.

3. Interface

The Winner: Vitamix A3500

The A3500’s interface also makes it a better buy than the A2300.

To control the blender activity of Vitamix A3500, we control via a touchscreen interface. Do you agree it’s very fashionable? It not only brings a sleek and modern design but makes it easy and convenient to use as well.

In addition, this kind of interface is very easy to clean and maintain. Because there are no switches in the way, we can wipe down it easily just with a soft towel.  The interface will never have any stains accumulation.

On the contrary, Vitamix A2300 doesn’t have this useful control panel. We need to use a dial and switches to control the blender activity instead. In fact, it is still straightforward to control, but only when using both blenders can I see more clearly its inferiority.

About the material, the dial and switches are hard plastic but it feels cheap. This interface clearly cannot defeat the modern look and sleekness of the A3500’s.

What about cleaning? I am sure you will never think about this issue when choosing the kind of interface. I also didn’t know about this before buying A2300. Only after using it for a while just I realize that removing the stain on the switches is difficult. If we don’t clean it carefully after each use,  it is easy to form the accumulation of stains.

4. Weight

The Winner: Vitamix A2300

With a weight of 14.92 pounds, the Vitamix A3500 is quite bulky and heavy. The A2300 is a bit lighter, it weighs 11.86 pounds.

I usually place the blender in a fixed position, so I don’t have to be concerned about its weight. But if you have to move your blender from one place to another usually, the A3500’s weight may annoy you. In this case, I think you will love the lightweight of Vitamix A2500.

In general, It’s depended on your work to consider this weight factor.

Vitamix A2300 vs A3500: Similarities

+ Blending Power

Vitamix blenders will give you the best blending performance compared to other blenders on the market today. The two Ascent Vitamix blenders have the same motor power of 2.2 horsepower. The motor power of these blenders enables you to blend or grind anything you put into it, from soft to hard ingredients.

One thing I worry about when using a high-power blender is that it can quickly heat up. But I never had to experience that problem when using A3500 and A2300 as their motor base contains a cooling fan and thermal protection system. Both of these features are essential for the blender to remain cool. You will not get a hot motor base, and if it does get hot, the blender will automatically shut off.

+ Speed Control And Pulse Function

Vitamix A2300 and A3500 have 10-variable speeds. You can control the blender’s speed even while it’s running. 10 speeds is more than enough for me to blend or grind different types of ingredients or create different smooth textures. To obtain the perfect texture of your recipe, I recommend starting the blender machine slowly and then gradually increasing the speed level.

Besides this ten speeds level, both machines also have Pulse function. This function allows us to blend hard ingredients like nuts effectively and smoothly. It also helps us blend faster in some cases.

+ Container, Lid

There is one container included with the Vitamix A3500 and the Vitamix A2300 that is 64 ounces in size. It feels very well-built, solid. Some users complained that their container is scratched easily after grinding dry ingredients. It is also a matter that you need to keep in mind. However, I still haven’t encountered this.

This size is quite large and I think it’s just suitable for medium to large batches, not for small batches. I tried to grind a one-person serving some times, and it didn’t work too smoothly.

About the lid, it is a clear lid, and I have heard a lot of conflicting opinions about this design. Some people like these clear plastic lids because we can see what’s happening inside the blender while blending, so we can check the texture of contents at a glance. It is something that opaque rubber lids cannot provide.

The lid is clear so we can see what's happening inside the blender while you are blending

In contrast, some other users like rubber lids. They said that the plastic lid feels like snaps and it seems going to break or crack. The rubber lids will never break.

+ Self-detect Container and Pulse mode

The Vitamix A2300 and A3500 both come with a feature called self-detect container detection. The function of this feature is that the machine will detect what container is attaching to the base, and then the blender will adjust the settings accordingly.

In addition, both blenders also have a pulse button. This mode is really useful because it can be used when grinding hard components or when you want to speed up the grinding, blending process.

+ Vitamix App

Vitamix A3500 and A2300 are compatible with the Vitamix app. This App is available for both iOS and Android.

When accessing this App, you will get approached 17 presets and more than 500 recipes. Cooking has never been easier!
