Are you trying to decide which Vitamix blender will best suit your needs and wants between Vitamix Pro 750 vs 500? And whether the 750 is worth spending the extra money?

For a quick answer: the Vitamix 750 is definitely worth your investment, and I also recommend buying it. It has an excellent power motor with 2.2HP, but it is also quieter than the 500. Together with a 4-in blad and an improved 64-oz container, its blending performs perfectly. The five presets make it easier and more convenient for busy cooks.

As a runner-up, the Vitamix 500 is also worth considering. It is also an effective blender that is powerful enough to meet almost all your blending needs. With three presets, the blending job becomes hassle-free. The most important thing is that it is cheaper than the 7500.

Vitamix Pro 750 vs 500: Differences

Vitamix Pro 750 won by 3-1 over the Vitamix Pro 500. It is the better option because its motor is more powerful and much quieter than that of the 500, it is more convenient with more presets and cleaning it is easier. Meanwhile, the 500 is cheaper than the Vitamix Pro 750.

1. Blending Performance

The winner: Vitamix Pro 750

+ Motor

Blending power is definitely the most important factor on a blender. Both Vitamix Pro 750 and 500 are powerful blenders. But to compare, the 7500 is more powerful than the 500 as it has a 2.2 horsepower motor while the 500’s motor is 2 horsepower. I have never had trouble grinding, blending any ingredients whether the toughest when using Vitamix Pro 750.

Many people will think that the higher the power is, the noisier it is. However, the truth is completely the opposite. Despite the higher power, the 750 is quieter than the 500 thanks to the next-gen motor base housing.  It is reported that the Vitamix Pro 750 is 40% quieter than the 500. As a result, I can prepare Smoothie in the morning without waking up the whole family.

There are also two features common to all Vitamix blenders that these two blenders also have- a radial cooling fan and a thermal protection system – to prevent the blender from overheating.

+ Container

While both blenders are equipped with a 64-oz container, the Vitamix Pro 750’s container is low-profile while the 500’s container is classic. As compared to the low-profile container, the 500’s classic container is about three inches taller.

You will wonder why the container affects blending performance, right? Let me explain.

The low-profile container of Vitamix Pro 700 makes the blending process more efficient than the taller container of Vitamix Pro 500
The low-profile container of Vitamix Pro 700 makes the blending process more efficient than the taller container of Vitamix Pro 500

The container of the Vitamix 750 is wider and shorter than that of the 500. The wider design makes the blending process more efficient because ingredients can fall into the blades more easily, so we don’t need to use the tamper much. Furthermore, the wider design is better for the chopping job as more ingredients can be course-chopped at once.

However, the 750’s container design also has a huge disadvantage. When blending small batches (maybe small volumes of under ~2 cups), the 750’s container doesn’t perform quite as well as the 500’s narrow container. The mixing splashing up onto the lid and the container walls. However, this problem can be solved if you are willing to spend more money to purchase an additional narrow container, such as a 48-oz container.

+ Blade

The blade on the Vitamix 750 is 4-inches instead of the 3-inches on the Vitamix 6500. As the container of the Vitamix 750 is wider, it makes sense for the blade to be wider. And it also brings better blending performance.

When I blend the same amount of ingredients on the two blenders, I feel like the 750’s processing time is quicker. Sometimes, the mixing pureed from 750 marginally smoother. I’m sure this is thanks to the 4-inch blade.

2. Controls/Settings

The winner: Vitamix Pro 750

+ Presets

Winner: Vitamix Pro 750

Preprogrammed settings are available on both the Vitamix Pro 750 and Vitamix Pro 500. These presets make them very easy to use and a perfect choice for those who are busy cooks or who prefer just pushing a button than adjusting the speed dial. This feature is convenient because you just choose a preset and let the blender complete the job. Meanwhile, you can walk away to do other tasks such as doing the dishes or anything else, instead of having to watch it. The blender will stop itself when the mix achieves the perfect texture.

The difference between the settings on these two blenders is that the Vitamix Pro 750 actually feature two more pre-programmed settings than the Vitamix Pro 500, making it possible to create puree recipes, and for it to self-clean for the utmost convenience, in addition to the standard smoothies, frozen desserts, and hot soup presets. Not only do these pre-programmed settings control the speed of the blender, but also the time the blender is on for. Both models also feature straightforward, accessible buttons that can be controlled easily by chefs of all kinds.

The difference in presets between the two blenders is that while the Vitamix Pro 750 has 5 presets, the Vitamix Pro 500 only has 3. The two additional presets on the 750 are puree and self-clean options. The three last presets are: smoothies, frozen desserts, and hot soup preset.

Having more presets will definitely make the 750 more convenient, especially for busy cooks or amateurs.

3. Cleaning and Maintaining

Winner: Vitamix Pro 750

+ Dimensions

The design of Vitamix Pro 500 is classic while the 750 is more modern, just my opinion. To be unbiased here, I would say that both models are wonderful in terms of design.

Even so, there are a few differences that make Vitamix series 750 superior to Vitamix series 500. The Vitamix Pro 750 is 17.4 inches in height, 7.7 inches in width and weighs 12.5 lbs. With a height of 20.5 inches, the Vitamix Pro 500 is a little taller. The height of Vitamix Pro 750 will fit under standard kitchen cabinets. It is easier for storage.

+ Container

As I said above, the container of the 750 is wider, shorter while that of the 500 is taller and narrower. Based on my experience, cleaning a 64-oz low-profile (I mean the 750’s container) will be easier.

One annoying thing about blenders is that sticky ingredients sometimes get stuck to the blade, and it’s hard to get them out. The wider bottom of the 750’s container makes it easier to get rid of the sticky under the blade.

Moreover, cleaning the Vitamix Pro 750 is a breeze when it has a self-clean preset that the 500 lacks.

4. Price

Winner: Vitamix Pro 500

Although the Vitamix Pro 750 is about 50-70$ more expensive than the 500, it is worth the extra money. Why? It performs better in almost all aspects, as I have analyzed above.

But if you are on a budget, you can choose Vitamix pro 500. It is still a good choice, better than many blenders on the market, just not as good as the 750.

Vitamix Pro 750 vs 500: Similarities

Both blenders come with a 7-year full warranty that means when any problem occurs during the warranty period of 7 years, Vitamix will repair or replace the machine, and shipping costs are covered both ways.

They both have 64-ounce containers which are perfect for blending large batches for the whole family or party. The containers are very durable as they are made of BPA-free plastic and are shatter-proof. There are removable plugs in the lids of the containers, so you can add ingredients even while the blender is running.

The two blenders have ten speed controls, so you can achieve the exact consistency you desire. These blenders come with the pulse mode, which comes in handy when creating thick soups as well as other chunky mixtures.
